Award Nominations open for 2024

  • Nominations should be submitted using this nomination form, and we cannot accept handwritten documents.
  • Only ONE nomination form is needed.
  • You may include supporting documents (articles, testimonials, or work, etc.) with your completed nomination form. Maximum of five pages – not including the nomination form.
  • Self-nomination is allowed.
  • Nominations for 2024 consideration must be submitted by 29th February 2024 at 5 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Who can be nominated?

Eligible nominees must:

  • The nominees must Live or work in the UK except in the women of impact awards which they should live or work within the Dorset region.
  • Be 18 years or older at the date of nomination, except nominees in the Young Woman of Influence category and another young category.
  • Parental consent if a young person or self consent to the submission and publication of their name, photo, and information.
  • Be willing to provide a 1-3 minute speech at the reception.
  • All nominations must be based on work done in the past three to the current year.
  • Evidence of work done is paramount.

Who can nominate?

Nominations can be received by anyone, including friends, family, co-workers, etc. However, nominees can nominate themselves.

Youthful Woman of Impact

under 30 years old

We are looking to honour women under 30 who have demonstrated inclusive, innovative and inspiring approaches to leadership, volunteerism or community involvement that has made a positive social change in the Dorset area. The nominees must Live or work within the Dorset region.

Trailblazing Woman of Impact

30-49 years old

We are looking to honour women between 30-49 who have demonstrated inclusive, innovative and inspiring approaches to leadership, volunteerism or community involvement that has made a positive social change in the Dorset area. The nominees must Live or work within the Dorset region.

Eminent Woman of Impact

50+ years old

We are looking to honour women 50 and over who have demonstrated inclusive, innovative and inspiring approaches to leadership, volunteerism or community involvement that has made a positive social change in the Dorset area. The nominees must Live or work within the Dorset region.

Note: The above nomination categories are restricted locally to the Dorset area.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

This Award will celebrate a woman who has excelled in Law, Business, Community health engagement services and advocacy or Health and Science industry. It is a woman who has contributed greatly to her community or reached the top of her profession and made a significant contribution   to the community.

INSPIRING YOUNG PEOPLE AWARD

This award is a teacher, mentor, careers advisor, school governor, health advocate, ambassador or another person who inspires girls or young generation towards job prospect,  better health, jobs where women are under-represented.

COMMUNITY SPIRIT CHAMPION

This classification recognises the outstanding and varied contributions of traditional “public servants”, charity and volunteer workers. We are also seeking submissions from community spirited young women in community interest business, generous individuals, entrepreneurs leading the positive social action, etc. The aim of this Community Spirits class award is to make merry the new, varied generation of community-spirited young women, enthusiastic about making a positive change.

PASTORAL AWARD

This award recognises the pastoral organisation or an individual that is doing the most to support and nurture young women in pastoral engagement.

MOTHER OF THE YEAR

This award recognises and celebrates the work of everyday mums and the positive difference that they make in the lives of their children or any other child. We celebrate the special mum, single mum, wife, partner, sister, daughter or friend in your local community.

COMMUNITY INOVATION AWARD

This award recognises and celeberates a  woman with good  and creative ideas. A woman who has created and launched her own project which had had huge impact to the community? Made an existing project better with their contribution? Spotted a gap you spotted a gap in the community or  volunteering sector and filled it.

INSPIRING WOMEN IN MEDIA, ARTS AND CULTURE

Are you a budding actress or an energetic film producer, an artist or a choreographer? Or run an arts or cultural organisation?

PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR

This Award will celebrate a female Professional in the field of medicine, law, Pharmacy, Education, banking, Finance, self-made business owner and others, who have scaled or aspiring for higher heights of their chosen profession and made a significant contribution to the community.

COMPASSIONATE ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR

The award recognises women of any age who seek to bring a compassionate approach to doing business and social enterprise. They will have a strong community and environmental values as well as a supportive leadership style.

The Women Corporate Award

This is an opportunity to nominate a corporate organisation that goes above and beyond to support and empower young women in the community in the business world. We firmly believe that the UK economy and society as a whole will benefit greatly if women are given full opportunities to unleash their talents. Unfortunately, numerous barriers still exist that hinder women from achieving their goals. This Award aims to recognise organisations that:

1. Clearly and tangibly demonstrate their commitment to nurturing the potential of women in their workforce.
2. Exhibit innovation in their methods of enabling women to achieve their objectives.
3. Actively engage in public discourse surrounding the role of women in society.
4. Possess a strong dedication to creating positive social change that allows women to thrive.

What happens after you submit your nomination for Women's Community Impact Awards?

Notification and Evidence Request: We will be contacting all the nominees to inform them of their nomination for the women’s community impact awards and also request for any evidence of their contribution.

Event Reservations: We will invite nominees and nominators to reserve their attendance tickets for self, friends, colleagues or family members.

Nominee Meet Up: Nominee might be requested to meet up with the reviewers and organising committee. A date will be decided nearer the time if that will take place.

Awards: All nominated women will receive recognition and a beautifully crafted award on the 25th of May 2024. We promise to celebrate all the women in the same manner since the rationale of the event is to recognise achievements, contribution and impact and not another competition for women.

Access to the event: In all our past events, access to nominees has been complimentary (FREE). With the current economic situation, we have reviewed our processes and now asking nominees to request access sponsorship of £40 (Forty pounds) from local businesses, family members and friends to be able to attend the ceremony.

This will support the dinner for the night at a discounted rate for nominees only.  In return, we will be happy to announce the sponsors as the nominee is called up to receive their awards and also post the business information on our social media handles for visibility.

The Proccess

A review panel will review all nominations to make sure evidence given satisfy activities with community impact and also making sure it falls under the appropriate category.

Bear in mind that the nominated category might change if the reviewing panel decides based on the content of the evidence. If this happens, both the nominee and the nominator will be informed.

 

All qualifying nominees MUST be available: on the evening of Saturday, March 16th, 2024 for the award program and photo session in Bournemouth.
